Retouching is any change to a photograph in order to improve it. In essence it is altering reality or creating a little white lie. Give your portraits that ready for a magazine cover look. Love that picture of your toddler with the puppy? Wish the over-flowing kitchen garbage pail wasn't in the background? Past Perfected retouching can turn that picture into the treasure it ought to be.
Here is a common birthday scene, an almost perfect picture, but the cousin pointing throws the eye off and the partial man in the background is distracting.
Here the cousin was carefully removed and the missing pieces of the birthday girl's arm and dress were artfully reconstructed. Additionally the background was blurred to give more focus to the subject of the photo and a colored border was added.
Replacing the elbow was tricky. It required taking a sample elbow from another photo and then altering the shape, color and tone to blend it into the final picture.
This lovely home needed a little touching up before being listed for sale.
After some adjustments some obvious, some more subtle, the photo went from nice to gorgeous.
